WHY WE STARTED?

Creating Impactful Change
The story of SFAM began during a difficult chapter in our founder’s life — a period marked by personal health challenges that inspired deep reflection on legacy, impact, and what truly matters. Out of this period came a desire to create something meaningful — something that could outlive our struggles and uplift others.

The result was Schools for Africa (Malta): a foundation grounded in the idea that real change begins with education, and that even in our darkest moments, we can still plant seeds of hope.
Supporting Communities
Creating Impactful Change
Africa became our focus for two powerful reasons. First, the need is urgent. Across the continent, millions of children face enormous obstacles just to attend school. Many lack basic infrastructure, safety, and access to learning tools. Second, we found connection. Through Pastor Joseph — a devoted community leader in Ghana — we were introduced to a network of individuals who believed in the power of education as strongly as we did.
A story from Pastor Joseph struck a chord that would ultimately shape SFAM’s future. He spoke of children walking miles — crossing dangerous rivers and long dusty roads — just to attend school in crumbling buildings with leaking roofs and broken furniture. And still, they came every day, smiling, eager to learn.
That moment was a wake-up call. If these children could face such adversity with courage and determination, how could we not step forward to help? That question became the heartbeat of SFAM.

Empowering
Our Vision Looking Ahead
5-Year Plan
SFAM’s five-year plan begins in Ghana, where they are transforming a school on a 20,000-square-meter plot gifted by the King of Accra into a modern educational center with classrooms, technology, and community services.
A central feature will be Malta House, a hub for volunteers to live, collaborate with local educators, and engage in cultural exchange.

Looking ahead, SFAM plans to expand into another African country in need, replicating its model of sustainable, community-driven educational development. The organization aims to become a long-term, trusted presence across Africa, guided by responsiveness to the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

You can help us reach these goals and make a difference too - Every little bit helps!
